I got a start on this round with an idea about fish in a stream. I had a man’s shirt printed with what appeared to be trout.

Using a quick sketch on graph paper…

….I made several squares, adding some green painted fabric to the square within a square.

But I’m not convinced that the result works with my concept. So I will take a pause and not complete Round 4 this week.

Good plan. If you’re not sure about it, there is probably something about it that will bug you like crazy going forward.

It’s definitely okay to let the idea breathe a bit and see if something new comes to mind. You’ll know when it’s right! Keep going, though – I am really liking this quilt!

I do like the fish and painted green fabrics. I’m sure you will find a way to get the design to your concept with some time.

I like that “fish fabric”! It is so cute! I hope you figure out a way to incorporate it into the design.

I do like what you did and maybe the vision will be helped with this weeks prompt and a way to make it all work. You did the blocks, and I like them, and I bet you can find a way to use them.

Yes maybe this week will help

I know how you feel. We artists tend to be our worst critics. Still, I personally think it looks great and many others seem to like the fabric you used as well! I’ve never tried painting on fabric before. I’ve tried many things in art but for some reason never went there. I’m excited to see how it goes!

I’ve painted on alot of things but haven’t tried fabric before. I’m unsure as to why. I have added it into a collage if that counts? Does that count? LOL Anyway, great work!

I really like what you did by adding the green painted fabric to offset the SIS blocks! I’m sure you’ll find a way to make it work like you want! Thanks for quilting along with us.

I really like the fish fabric and the complementary blue fabric. What about this section is giving you pause?

It looks boxy and out of proportion compared to the last two rounds

I look forward to seeing how this resolves. I trust your eyeballs. 🙂

Round four took a little time for me also. But it is now finished.
